This is the first of 3 new exciting dress categories & students are advised to follow the dress guidelines that have been set out. Judges will be looking for persons or things that are considered to is a famous Aussie Icons today. Entrants could dress up as a famous bushranger like Ned Kelly or a jar of Vegemite, Hills Hoist Clothesline, or Victor Lawn Mower. What about Steve or Bindi Irwin, Don Bradman, Bert Newton, Elle McPherson, Herb Elliott, Phar Lap. There are lots of other famous Aussie Icons we are sure you can dress up as. Remember you must let the judges know what Aussie Icons you will parade out on the catwalk.

This is the opportunity for students to dress up as their favourite hero or most disliked villain made famous in Hollywood movies, comic & our history books. Super Heroes like Superman, Batman & Robin, Spiderman, Tarzan or real life heroes like Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps, Darren Locker. Some famous Villains could be The Joker, Mr. Freeze, Cat woman, the Penguin even the devil himself. They could famous bank robbers like Jessie James or Billie the Kid or our most famous bushranger Ned Kelly. Judges will be awarding points for the way entrants best portray the Hero or Villain they dress up as on the catwalk.

This is the prize category where Judges will be asking students to hit the catwalk dressed up in something that one would wear on an outdoors adventure or while participating in an extreme sport or pastime. Students could dress up as a Viking or Zulu Warrior, a Mountain or Rock Climber, a Water or Alpine Skier, a Windsurfer or Canoe Paddler, a Fisherman or Sky Diver. What about a Lion Tamer or African Safari Hunter. Why not a BMX or Bike Racer? As long as it looks outdoors extreme!

Models will have a choice of parading any type of designs they so choose, one, two piece bikinis, board shorts or even vintage swim wear. Judge’s will be looking for dress designs that have a real sporty look on the catwalk. Entrants need to ensure they do not get this category mixed up with daywear or casual wear designs. Their dress should portray our Aussie sporting culture. For example cricket, football, basketball, tennis, athletics, rowing or whatever is regarded as sporty. Models can dress up as a showjumper, jockey, BMX racer, netballer, road runner or walker, water or snow skier or in anything they think looks very sporty on the Catwalk.

Judge’s Design Brief:
Dance Style: "Anything Goes"
Open to All Age Dance Teams of 3 - 15 dancers
The Dance style is “Anything Goes” which means any dance or combination of dance styles is permitted over a 3 minute dance routine. It can be hip hop, street, funk, jazz or other, For example - contemporary, cheerleading, tap or other style of movement to music. There are no restrictions what dance team can wear. The judges selections will be made entirely on an Assessment of the skills of each dance team. The composition, level of creativity & design, innovation & overall dance presentation & performance will be used as the criteria by the judges in their evaluation of all dance teams.

Classic or Innovative. Designs in this category will be judged specifically as Race Wear, as such head wear & hats will be part of the judging criteria. Other accessories will not be judged, however, the overall effect is important 7 must be considered when styling the ‘look”.
The field is open to be more classic or to take a modern approach to race Wear. Judges are looking for flair & individual style – a standalone design. One which must be paraded individually & not be part of a collection entry. * We are not looking for evening or cocktail wear in this section.

$50 Budget Wear. This design category allows students to recreate a vintage look from materials they purchase from Opportunity Shops that cannot cost more than $50 in total.
From the photographs of these purchases entrants have to supply to judges they will be looking at the way students have recreated their original materials & transformed them into a vintage look design.
There are no set boundaries here and judges will be looking for students who challenge themself to create that alluring Vintage look in their design entry. Each must be paraded as a single design entry & not part of a design collection.

JUDGES DESIGN BRIEF:
Theme for this Amateur Photography Challenge is “Let’s Colour Up – What Fashion Means to me”. Judges will be looking for Photographs of persons or models that best express the meaning of Fashion through the use of a combination of colour. This may include the clever use of colour to their makeup or hair design as well as through the accessories, clothes designs or the background you choose to best present this fashion theme in this photograph. Photographs must only be taken in colour by a film or digital camera. They can be facial or full body shots of one or more person but Judges will be looking at the way you blend in the background through colour.
